Exchange Report
HostingBritish students in Palestine
                                                                          Adham Jamal Hamadneh

It was the 18th of February when I and my Palestinian colleagues first met the British students at the PALIMUN conference at Al-Quds University,in which we all played the roles of candidates representing 170 countries of the world. The first day was full of excitement and expectations, because I was very excited to create the first impression, to meet every one, to know each ones’ name and to introduce myself to them.
The first day ended at The Moon Hotel in Jericho, we spent 3 days in Jericho, but felt like 3 months, because we took the advantage of every minute. The best part in Jericho was visiting a lot of places. I was also very happy to participate in the Palestinian day, telling them about Palestinian people, our everyday life, food, traditions, culture, and answering them questions about Palestine, I like having them listen, feel and live with us our stories. We had fun, we sometimes played games, group brain storming, doing Dabka, and a lot of other interesting activities.
The third day was the British day, we knew a lot about the UK. Our friends acted a play which was very educative and funny. We went to know each other more, I made new friends. I think this day was very important to me, because I always wanted to visit Britain and I had answers to my questions about Britain.
Moving from hiking, to visiting the Jordan Valley and universities in Nablus, Ramallah and Bethlehem. Then going to Jerusalem, where our Muslim friends prayed at Al-Aqsa mosque. We spent very interesting and amazing days together. They saw the wall which was built by Israel to segregate Palestine and isolate Jerusalem. In spite of that, those 10 days were the best days of my life, I wish they never ended, I learned a lot from them and taught them a lot more.I learned that time is precious as well.

Another student from Al Quds shot and killed by Israeli soldiers.

APPALLING NEWS.

Another student from the Al Quds University shot and killed by Israeli soldiers.

From October 187 people have been shot/ killed inn Palestine of whom 46 are under 18 (and 8 are women). We’ve now been told that the FIFTH student (during this time) from the Al Quds University has been shot and killed by Israeli soldiers.

Iyad Sajdiyeh (22 years old) was a media student in his fourth year at the Al Quds University who lived in Qalandia camp. He was the only son in his family. On 1st March, he was on the roof of his house in Qalandya camp when he was shot and killed.

Here is his picture. http://www.alhadath.ps/…/آلاف-المواطنين-يشيعون-الشهيد-سجدية…

Amazing student visit to Palestine

The second half of February 2016 saw the CADFA Twinning in Action students' exchange to Palestine. What a great group of people. Too much happened in an intense 10 days based at Jericho and Abu Dis for a quick comment. It was an entirely positive visit and had many outcomes - videos, photos, plans. There should soon be more postings here about the exchange. You can also see CADFA Facbook and twinninginaction.blogspot.co.uk... Look for the posts in February or about the students' visit.

University of York

As we did in many Universities across the UK, Nour and I visited the University of York and gave a speech there about Palestine and being a student in Palestine, we received many questions from the attendees about the Palestine and the situation in Palestine in general and the other day we had a tour in the city of York, the whole thing was amazing

Skype Meeting!

We are pleased to have started a skype meeting with some excited volunteers in Al-Quds University. The meeting gave the volunteers the chance to think about the potential outcomes of the student visit to Palestine and propose suggestions for activities. The students were more than happy to share their thought despite the bad internet issue.
